CULTURE LIFTERS HANDED OUT! MEDIAM AMONG THE WINNERS
For the sixth time, the Krakow Festival Office has honored its partners and sponsors by awarding them Culture Lifters – a symbol of how important business support is for the development of culture. KBF has been investing in developing a network of partnerships between representatives of business and culture for years. The gala at the Autoneo Group’s Autoremo Salon was highlighted by a performance by the charismatic Staszek Slowinski quintet.
The name of the award refers to the first vertebra of the spine carrying the skull and enabling head movements. It derives from the mythical figure Atlas, who was supposed to support the Earth. The culture lifter is a symbol of how important business and media support is to the development of culture. It is also an inspiration for graphic artists – this year the Culture Lifter was designed by Krzysztof Iwański – a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, winner of the European Design Awards in 2016 and 2017. This year’s creation with elaborate typography is meant to embody the creativity and diversity of the Krakow Festival Office’s undertakings.
